Week 4 is definitely a talent showcase. The 6 semi-finalists - Big Mouth, Sherwin Baguion, Reiniel Tulabing, Oldies & Goodies, Fame Flores, and Ezra Band, have proven themselves worthy to be in the semi-finals. Based on their performances, judges comments, and audience reactions, it is hard to tell who will make it to the grand finals.
Tonight is also another night of "technical glitch." This time, it was Reiniel Tulabing's performance. A few moments into his act, the judges' buzzers went off. But the problem wasn't with the buzzers nor the performer. It's the head microphone that Reiniel was using. He used that kind of mic because he is doing a Michael Jackson song that requires him to sing and dance at the same time.
Although the singing was audible enough on TV, but apparently it wasn't the case inside the AFP Theater. The judges have to buzz to stop the performance and suggested that Reineil use a hand-held mic instead. When he got the mic and as the music has started playing, the boy contestant went over to the far side of the stage frantically searching for his costumes - a hat and dark glasses that he had taken off and tossed aside earlier as part of his performance.
The hosts, Billy and Luis, have to jump in and stop the music to get the boy ready. Finally, Reniel and his back-up dancers were ready and they were able to put the act together successfully. It was a live show after all.
