How to Prepare for the Pilipinas Got Talent Audition
For those who are interested in going to the auditions for Pilipinas Got Talent, here are some of the things to remember in order to prepare yourself better for the auditions. (Note: I do not guarantee that by following these steps you'll be able to pass the auditions. Whether you qualify or not depends entirely on how well you impress the jurors.)
1. We know that everyone's got at least one talent, but ask yourself, "Is my talent worth the attention of the Filipinos?" Your talent doesn't have to be unique; you don't even have to be the best in that particular talent. But your method of showing it must be special - special in a way that you can make something ordinary into extraordinary.
Just look at Susan Boyle. I think she is more popular today than the real winners of Britain's Got Talent. Obviously, many other singers sound better than her. She is not the most beautiful or sexiest among British singers. But there is something special about her that we, the viewers, were able to connect with.
It's not all about the talent, though her talent is certainly a major plus. It's about the personality. We cannot pin-point specifically what it is because it is a conglomeration of many different factors - the person, the talent, the opportunity, the moment - that bundled together into a coherent force that radiates from the inner person to the hearts and souls of the spectators.
2. Practice, practice, practice. Never assume that you have mastered every aspect performance. Rehearse every detail - each move, each sound, the movement of your eyes, the style of your hair - all must contribute to the perfection of your performance. Constantly practice it until it almost becomes an effortless presentation.
3. Guard your thoughts. Never indulge in self-mortification. In other words, do not listen to discouragements especially those that come from deep within you. Picture yourself performing seamlessly. Many have done it and for sure you can do it, too. You have the talent and the people around you need to see that. You deserve the attention and they deserve the best performance.
4. Finally, never ever quit. If you failed before, that was an opportunity to learn and make yourself not only better, but the best this time. Winners are those who pursue their goals and they pursue them persistently no matter how battered they are. This could be your moment to shine...
